It’s already been a week of self quarantine and I’m totally tired up from not having anything to watch on the tv or clear my cupboard. I found this creative and innovative idea to stay sane and couldn’t help but share it with you guys. Also I cant stop thinking about Saul Steinberg’s saying “The life of the creative man is led, directed and controlled by boredom. Avoiding boredom is one of our most important purposes”, especially in Self quarantine. Here goes my 6 ways to stay sane.
hobby that you WANTED TO HAVE
Yes, your Coronavirus quarantine could only last a few days.
Or it could extend for weeks and months.
You don’t really know so you might as well take the leap right now and learn something.
Some of us have left are hobbies because life caught up but this is the time to learn and further it better.
It could be as simple as painting flowers, learning to play guitar or learning to click a picture better.
Thank God for google theirs so much information and online courses that you can benefit from.
Cook – because it is a life skill
Unfortunately with a lockdown, you might not be able to get food delivered to you or the luxury of a cook cooking for you. Maybe this is the time to learn your favourite dish from a restaurant that you used to pay heavily for. Be sure to check out some online recipes.
With all the spare time on your hands, there’s no better time to start filtering through all those creative jobs that you just never got around to. Pinterest has some great ideas, from your home decors to organizing your kitchen.Trust me once you do it you will be proud of yourself.
Start prepping your garden
I almost killed my mint plant and regret it. In the most desperate times when you need it and you cant find it in the stores because of the lockdown. You realize a lot of things. Little things you took for granted. Gardening is a cost-effective way of getting some sustenance, but it will also give you a project to look after day-by-day.A Significant way of spending time. Also by the time you come out maybe you will have a vegetable growing at you place ( Smile…Smile..)
Create a massive to-do list
When you are forced to sit at home, you realize how much of your home or well being is neglected. Maybe this is the time to write them down and do it one step at a time. It can be as simple as dusting your couch or rearranging the furniture or even writing the thoughts that worry you in a journal. Write all that you wanted to do in a list and slowly conquer each one. Its quite gratifying.
Streamline your Finances
Use your quarantine time to simplify, streamline and organise your financial life to free both time and cash. Write down your goals. Goals can be short-term like the latest iphone in the market or a car. Long-term goals could be buying a home or retiring comfortably. Also look at your subscriptions like a new app that you don’t use any more or the magazines that are no longer needed, subscription boxes..blah..blah.Its important to eliminate unnecessary spending that no longer contributes to your life.
Make the most out of your time at home and become more productive, Also remember to wash your hands at regular intervals and take care of yourself. Stay safe!
